Korean actress Han Hye-jin will make a comeback to the small screen next month as the female lead in an upcoming KBS drama.


A press release from the show's producer GnG Production announced today that Han will play the role of Seo Jung-eun in the new Wednesday and Thursday drama tentatively titled "Thorn Birds" which will go on air starting February 23.

"We are certain that Han will be able to pull off the role of Seo Jung-eun and have high expectations that she will grab the attention of the viewers," a producer from GnG was quoted as saying.


"Thorn Birds," written by famed scenarist Lee Sun-hee and helmed by Kim Jong-chang, tells the story about Seo who grows up at an orphanage and decides to look for her birth mother after she becomes a star.

Han has appeared in a number of movies and TV series since her acting debut in 2002. She rose to fame with her roles in MBC's "Be Strong, Geum Soon!" (2005) and historical dramas "Jumong" (2006) and "Jejungwon" (SBS, 2010).

The actress also starred in the film "No Mercy" (2010) alongside top Korean actors Sul Kyung-gu and Ryu Seung-beom.
