Otani Ryohei to join upcoming TV series "THE CHASER"

Japanese actor Otani Ryohei has been earmarked to play a charismatic role in SBS' upcoming drama, "THE CHASER."

Ryohei, who is playing a killer in OCN's current TV series "Hero," has been set to star in "THE CHASER" set to hit the airwaves on May 28, Ryohei's agency EYAGI Entertainment announced in a press release this morning.

"It's such an honor to be able to keep up with my activities with amazing projects like this. I'll do my best to bring a heartwarming story to the viewers by working hard with other talented casts," the actor was quoted as saying.

The follow-up series to current "Fashion King" has an impressive ensemble that also includes actors Ryu Seung-soo, Son Hyun-joo and Kim Sang-joong.

The story will portray a man going through a series of tearful events while trying to reveal the truth behind his daughter's death.

Ryohei, who first made his debut as a model in Japan, made his first public appearance in Korea by being featured in a donut company's commercial in 2003.

Over the course of nine years, he has developed a reputation as an actor by taking on attractive roles in TV series and films such as "Soulmate"(MBC, 2006) and historical fiction movie "Arrow The Ultimate Weapon" last year.
