SHINee conquers music charts with "Ring"

Korean boy band SHINee has taken off to a strong start to their comeback, conquering online and offline music charts with their new album, according to their agency on Monday.

For the week of October 19, their third mini-album "2009, Year Of Us" released last Thursday, ranked at No. 1 in album sales on various music charts including Hanteo, Hottracks and Shinara Records.

"Ring Ding Dong", the title song to their album, also placed first on music website Dosirak, No. 2 on Mnet and No. 3 on Melon's Top 100 weekly charts.

"We are thrilled to receive so much love upon our comeback last week," the pop group was quoted as saying. "We will work harder to give fans greater performances."

SHINee, one of the most popular idol groups in Korea, has had several K-pop hits, most notably their debut single "Older Girl, You're So Pretty" and the recent chart topper "Juliette" earlier this year.
