Samyang Group Participates in CHINAPLAS in China, Showcasing Innovative Materials
Functional Materials for IT, Medical, and Automotive Applications Unveiled
"Expanding Overseas Markets Focused on Specialty Materials"
Samyang Group is participating in Asia's largest plastics exhibition, 'CHINAPLAS 2026,' to showcase its competitiveness in specialty materials.
Samyang Group announced that it will participate in 'CHINAPLAS 2026,' held in Shanghai, China, from April 21 to 24, presenting specialty materials from its chemical affiliates, Samyang Corporation and Samyang Innochem.
CHINAPLAS is an industrial exhibition introducing the latest trends in plastics and rubber materials and processing technologies. This year, about 5,000 companies from around 170 countries are participating. Samyang Group has taken part for four consecutive years to expand customer engagement and keep abreast of market trends.
At this exhibition, Samyang Group’s booth is organized around three themes: Smart & Life, Mobility, and Green Specialty, introducing functional materials tailored to each industry sector. Visitors can access product information on-site through brochures and QR codes.
In the Smart & Life section, Samyang Group is exhibiting next-generation IT materials such as high-impact silicon polycarbonate (Si-PC) for smart glass cases, materials for IT and communication devices with excellent weather resistance, and materials for AI servers with outstanding heat resistance and dimensional stability. The company is also presenting medical polycarbonate (PC) with minimized yellowing after gamma sterilization, Si-PC-based medical devices resistant to disinfectant damage, and panels for ultrasound devices.
In the Mobility section, the company is unveiling, for the first time, an adhesive for electric vehicle motor cores. This product is effective in reducing power loss and noise and improving motor efficiency compared to traditional welding or press-fitting methods. Also on display are high-transmittance PC for automotive daytime running and tail lights, thermoplastic polyester elastomer (TPEE) with light weight and durability, and Si-PC with excellent weather resistance and flame retardancy—all materials for mobility applications.
In the Green Specialty section, the company is introducing eco-friendly materials utilizing 'isosorbide,' a corn-based biomass material produced by Samyang Innochem. Representative products include ISB-PC, which offers improved transmittance and weatherability compared to conventional PC, and ISB-PET, which features high heat resistance, chemical resistance, and hardness—suitable for use in food, kitchenware, and automotive applications.
