Disney to Host 'Star Wars Day' Event in Jamsil Next Month
Held Around Lotte World Tower
Grogu Sculpture, Parade, Drone Show, and More
Walt Disney Company Korea announced on April 21 that it will hold "Star Wars Day 2026 in Jamsil" from May 1 to May 17 in the area around Lotte World Tower in Jamsil, Seoul.
Star Wars Day (May 4) is a day when fans around the world celebrate the Star Wars franchise every year. The event originated from the similarity in pronunciation between the famous phrase "May the Force be with you" and "May the Fourth," which refers to May 4 in English.
The core of this event, the "Star Wars Arena," will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the outdoor plaza of Lotte World Tower. A giant Grogu sculpture, standing 10 meters tall, will be displayed, and an area will be set up where visitors can experience the upcoming film "The Mandalorian and Grogu," which is scheduled to premiere on May 27, in advance.
The event will feature game programs such as spaceship piloting simulations and reconnaissance missions. There will also be exhibitions of collections owned by Korean fans, including helmets, lightsabers, and figures, as well as LEGO products and a Hot Toys showroom. Experience programs for children, such as maze exploration, drawing, and coloring, will also be offered.
On May 4 and 5, the official Star Wars fan club "501st Legion Korea Garrison" will hold a large-scale character parade with a marching band around the Star Wars Arena, Seoul Sky, and Jamsil Hangang Park.
