Taiwan TSMC "More Time Needed to Resume Production on Some Lines"
According to Bloomberg and other sources on the 4th, Taiwan's TSMC, the world's largest foundry (semiconductor contract manufacturer), is expected to need more time to resume production on some lines.
According to the report, TSMC stated on the same day, "We are still assessing the impact of the earthquake." Earlier, when the strongest earthquake in 25 years struck the Hualien region on the morning of the 3rd, TSMC evacuated some factory employees and halted factory operations. However, it added that more than 80% of the entire factory equipment has been restored and new construction work has also resumed.
