At a press conference held at his campaign office that day, Baek stated, "Over the past four years, we have overcome saturated industrial complexes, shortages of industrial power, and even the risk of companies leaving Nonsan," and added, "Now it is time to fundamentally change Nonsan."
He also referred to the difficult conditions he faced, including a budget cut of approximately 10 billion won due to conflicts with the 8th popularly elected city council, emphasizing, "By focusing on city administration without hesitation or distraction, we overcame the crisis."
He stressed, "Nonsan needs a competent mayor who can bring about change through policies and execution, not political maneuvering," and identified "defense and advanced industries" as the core axes of growth.
He highlighted major pending issues, including the July ground-breaking of the National Defense Industrial Complex, the establishment of the Defense Future Technology Research Center, the creation of the Gwangseok Smart Livestock Complex, the Hwangryongjae Tunnel Project, the development of the Tapjeong Lake Leisure Complex, and preparations for the 2027 World Strawberry Industry Expo.
His campaign pledges include renewed efforts to attract investment from Korea Defense Industry (KDI), establishing an aviation maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) hub, relocating the Korea Institute for Defense Analyses, supporting the construction of a new Baekje General Hospital, bringing in the Sung Sim Dang Theme Park, introducing a 'Citizen Solar Pension' based on renewable energy, expanding the Nonsan Love Gift Certificate program, supplying rental housing for young people and newlyweds, strengthening welfare across all life stages, and building an indoor sports arena with a capacity of 3,000 seats.
