Central Labor Relations Commission Requests Samsung Electronics Labor and Management to Resume Post-Mediation on the 16th
The Central Labor Relations Commission has officially requested that Samsung Electronics management and labor resume the suspended post-mediation process on the 16th.
On the 14th, the Central Labor Relations Commission issued a press release stating, "We have asked Samsung Electronics management and labor to resume the post-mediation meeting on the 16th."
The commission explained, "To encourage the parties to resolve their differences independently, we have once again recommended a second post-mediation meeting, urging both sides to have genuine discussions and engage in substantive negotiations."
Post-mediation can be initiated if both management and labor request it, if one party requests it and the other agrees, or if the chairperson of the Labor Relations Commission recognizes the need for post-mediation, recommends it to the parties, and they consent.
Samsung Electronics management and labor, who have been in sharp conflict over the criteria for performance-based bonuses, engaged in marathon negotiations during post-mediation meetings arranged by the Central Labor Relations Commission for two days on the 11th and 12th.
