Finetek and Helper Robotics plan to develop an integrated system combining automated Gukbap (Korean soup and rice) cooking robots with in-restaurant logistics robots, leveraging each company's technological expertise. Together, they aim to establish an unmanned restaurant operation platform. Their business will expand beyond operating unmanned Gukbap restaurants to include the supply of robot packages for cooking and logistics, as well as operation platform and maintenance services.
Finetek will be responsible for ▲ the design, development, and mass production of automated Gukbap cooking robots ▲ building brand and restaurant models ▲ developing the store operation platform ▲ overseeing the overall project and attracting investment. Helper Robotics will handle ▲ the development and supply of in-store logistics robots ▲ development of integration technology between cooking and logistics robots ▲ maintenance and technical support.
The two companies plan to complete the development of a prototype integrated robot system in the third quarter of this year and begin building pilot stores and conducting verification operations from the fourth quarter. Next year, they intend to begin full-scale mass production and expand their franchise network. Their goal is to expand the food tech platform business to more than 10 stores in Korea by 2027 and to over 50 domestic and overseas stores by 2028.
