Google Cloud: "Enterprise AI Users Up 40% in Q1"
"Gemini Enterprise's paid monthly active users increased by 40% in the first quarter compared to the previous quarter. Google Cloud is the only provider delivering solutions across all stages of artificial intelligence (AI)."
On April 22 (local time) in Las Vegas, USA, at 'Google Cloud Next 2026', Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, stated, "We will support every company in adopting AI agents (assistants)," and emphasized, "We aim to lead a new era of AI commercialization by providing a vertically optimized and integrated stage for all components, maximizing scale and efficiency."
Google Cloud aims to accelerate enterprise transformation by leveraging AI-powered cloud technology. Approximately 75% of Google Cloud customers worldwide are using AI product suites to drive their business momentum. CEO Kurian explained, "Over the past 12 months, 330 Google Cloud customers have processed over 1 trillion tokens of data, and 35 companies have achieved the milestone of processing 10 trillion tokens using Google models. Additionally, the throughput of Google models via API (Application Programming Interface) calls increased from 10 billion tokens per minute last quarter to over 16 billion tokens per minute."
Google Cloud unveiled the 'Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform,' which enables companies to build, expand, and manage AI assistants. The developed assistants are distributed to employees via the Gemini Enterprise app and are integrated with IT operating systems to maintain governance and security.
The supporting AI infrastructure has also been strengthened. A representative example is the 8th-generation Tensor Processing Unit (TPU), which will be officially released within this year. CEO Kurian explained, "The 8th-generation TPU delivers an 80% performance improvement per dollar over the previous generation, allowing companies to meet twice as much customer demand at the same cost. The TPU 8t is designed for large-scale training, reducing the development period for cutting-edge models from several months to just a few weeks, while the inference-focused TPU 8i provides instantaneous responses."
AI-based cybersecurity platforms are also being offered. These include 'Red Agent,' which detects vulnerabilities on the dark web; 'Blue Agent,' which analyzes new attack behaviors; and 'Green Agent,' which automatically generates detection rules for threat scenarios.
