Jung Wono Camp’s Lee Haesik: "Oh Sehoon Blames Others and the Past... Repeating Incompetent Administration"
Rebuttal to Oh's Claim: "The Lee Administration Will Not Support Gangnam Reconstruction"
Assemblyman Lee Haesik, who serves as Chief of the Overall Election Campaign Headquarters for Jung Wono, the Democratic Party of Korea’s Seoul mayoral candidate, delivered strong criticism on April 20 regarding Seoul Mayor Oh Sehoon's remark that "the Lee Jaemyung administration will not support the Gangnam reconstruction," calling it a "lie."

He stated, "A responsible apology must follow for politically exploiting the hopes and anxieties of residents in reconstruction areas through baseless fear marketing."
He pointed out, "The Cover Park Project was a key issue linked to Han River reconstruction projects in areas like Apgujeong, Banpo, and Seongsu, but during the Yoon Suk-yeol administration, the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Ministry of Environment were at odds, leaving this problem unresolved for a considerable period."
He explained, "During that time, rather than working towards a solution, Mayor Oh only blamed regulations and circumstances. In August 2025, when the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Ministry of Environment continued to confront each other, Jung Wono, then mayor of Seongdong District, as well as the mayors of Gangnam and Seocho Districts, met directly with Environment Minister Kim Seonghwan to request a solution."
He continued, "That opened the door to resolving the issue, and in October of that year, the National Water Management Committee reviewed and approved the Han River Master Plan, making the Cover Park Project possible. After the launch of the Lee Jaemyung administration, the Cover Park issue truly began to be resolved."

He further emphasized, "For a mayor who could not even resolve issues linked to reconstruction to now provoke public anxiety by blaming the government is a repetition of incompetent administration that always finds fault with others and the past. Mayor Oh must clearly apologize to the citizens for making false claims as though the Lee Jaemyung administration will obstruct reconstruction."
