2035 NDC Projected at '53?61% Reduction'... Slightly Higher Than Government Proposal
On November 9, the ruling party and the government reached a consensus to set the '2035 National Greenhouse Gas Reduction Target' (2035 NDC) at 'a 53?61% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2035 compared to 2018 levels.' The lower limit of 53% corresponds to the higher of the two options the government presented at the public hearing on November 6, while the upper limit of 61% is 1 percentage point higher than the government's previously announced candidate. Previously, the government had proposed 'a 50?60% reduction' and 'a 53?60% reduction' as candidates for the 2035 NDC. The '53% reduction' is the target that would be achieved if carbon neutrality (net zero greenhouse gas emissions) is reached by 2050, assuming emissions are reduced by the same percentage each year from 2018. The '61% reduction' is the level recommended by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) as necessary to have at least a 50% chance of limiting global temperature rise to 1.5 degrees Celsius or

In a video released by The Washington Post, President Trump can be seen repeatedly closing and opening his eyes while the speaker is talking, massaging his temples, or leaning back in his chair to fight off drowsiness. Even when an unexpected incident occurred during the event, with an attendee collapsing, his struggle to stay focused continued. The White House stated, "He responded to remarks and reporters' questions throughout the event," denying that he had dozed off, but the video had already spread widely on social media. Supporters of the Democratic Party saw Trump's behavior as "poetic justice

Cho Kuk to Han Donghoon’s ‘Prosecution Already Dead’ Remark: “Keep Your Mouth Shut”
Former Emergency Committee Chairman of the National Innovation Party, Cho Kuk, strongly refuted the 'prosecutor suicide' statement made by former People Power Party leader Han Donghoon. On the previous day, November 8, Cho wrote on his Facebook, "The prosecution in South Korea did not die on November 8. It was already dead when political prosecutors led by Yoon Sukyeol and Han Donghoon abused prosecutorial power in their attempt to seize political power," adding, "Keep your mouth shut." He continued, "Did these two not occupy the positions of President and Minister of Justice and use the prosecution as their lapdog? Yoon Sukyeol and Han Donghoon, the two main contributors to the death of the prosecution, have no right to speak." He also added, "The media that sang embarrassing praises for Yoon Sukyeol, the political prosecutors who wielded their power ruthlessly to establish a prosecutorial regime, the opportunistic intellectuals who defended the selective and biased investigations of

Sanae Takaichi, who became Japan's first female prime minister last month, drew attention on November 8 by sharing a glimpse of her personal life on X (formerly Twitter), saying, "I tried to cut my own hair and failed, so I became the subject of my husband's laughter." According to the Yomiuri Shimbun on November 9, Prime Minister Takaichi wrote in a post the previous day, "If I leave my residence, I might inconvenience my security staff or driver, so I decided to work from my residence on weekends without official events. Han Donghoon: "Dropping Appeal for President Lee? They All Belong in Prison"
Former People Power Party leader Han Donghoon strongly criticized the prosecution's decision to abandon the appeal in the Daejang-dong development corruption case, stating, "All those involved in the Presidential Office, the Ministry of Justice, the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, and the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, who gave the dirty and illegal order to drop the appeal for the sake of one person, Lee Jaemyung, should go to prison." On the previous day, the 8th, Han posted on his Facebook page, "Even the current prosecutors in charge, who are now whining after everything has ended, should be punished." He further stated, "That is how it will end up. Why should the public oppose abolishing a prosecution that, like a dog following orders from those in power, gives up an appeal in such a manner
