Gyeonggi Fire Service Raises 2.33 Million Won in Donations at 'DMZ Peace Marathon' with Residents
The Gyeonggi Province Fire and Disaster Headquarters raised 2,330,000 won in donations at a marathon held at Imjingak in Paju on April 19, 2026.
The Fire and Disaster Headquarters announced that on this day, it launched the "Warm Accompaniment Gyeonggi 119" campaign at the 2026 Firefighter DMZ Peace Marathon, running together with residents of the province to put the spirit of neighborly love into practice.
A total of 215 firefighters who participated in the event voluntarily contributed 119 won for every 100 meters run, raising a cumulative donation of 2,338,350 won.

View original imageSince December 2022, the Gyeonggi Province Fire and Disaster Headquarters has been operating the "Warm Accompaniment Gyeonggi 119" initiative to support residents whose livelihoods have been impacted by disasters such as fires.
The Warm Accompaniment 119 project surpassed 1 billion won in total donations in August last year, just 32 months after its launch, and has since raised 1,225,890,000 won to date. Of this amount, 694,000,000 won has been provided as emergency assistance to 187 households in crisis.

Choi Yongcheol, Acting Director of the Gyeonggi Province Fire and Disaster Headquarters, stated, "The public role is only fulfilled when support continues beyond rescue at the disaster site, extending into the lives that follow," adding, "Gyeonggi Fire Service will stand by residents until the moment they can get back on their feet."
