LG Uplus Holds Awareness Improvement Concert for Employees on Disabled Persons Day

On April 19, LG Uplus announced that, together with LG Electronics, it had successfully concluded a disability awareness improvement program for its employees.

View original imageIn celebration of Disabled Persons Day, approximately 300 employees attended the "LG Inclusive Day - Accessibility and Disability Awareness Improvement Lunch Concert" held on April 17 at LG Science Park in Magok, Seoul. The concert was organized in partnership with Milal Welfare Foundation and Paradise Welfare Foundation, both organizations specializing in welfare for people with disabilities.
During the lunch concert, the 'Bridge On Chamber Orchestra'—composed of musicians with developmental disabilities from Milal Welfare Foundation—performed on stage. The venue also featured a range of accessibility-related technologies and solutions on display, including LG Electronics’ AI home hub 'LG ThinQ On', Internet of Things (IoT) devices, and comfort kits designed to make home appliances more accessible.
Hands-on programs were also provided, such as a braille keyring-making activity for employees, as well as demonstrations of an optical character reader for the visually impaired, assistive devices with voice support, and augmented reality (AR) glasses for people with low vision.

LG Uplus stated that it plans to continue offering a variety of internal activities to ensure that awareness and empathy for disability and accessibility become a part of employees' daily lives and work culture. Park Kyungjoong, Executive Vice President in charge of External Cooperation at LG Uplus, said, “We organized this event so that employees could directly see and experience accessibility firsthand, not just learn about it in theory,” adding, “We will continue to spread inclusive technologies and cultures that contribute to improving awareness of people with disabilities.”
