Iranian Media: "No Agreement Yet on Second Round of Talks with U.S."
Iran has not yet agreed to a second round of negotiations with the United States, according to local media reports.
On April 18 (local time), Tasnim News Agency, which represents the hardliners and the military in Iran, reported information obtained from relevant sources. The agency stated, "Due to U.S. President Donald Trump's maritime blockade against Iran and the excessive demands made by the United States in negotiations where messages were exchanged until recently, Iran has not agreed to proceed with the next round of talks at this time."
The report continued, "Iran emphasized that the United States refraining from excessive demands is a key condition for continuing negotiations. Otherwise, Iran will not waste time in protracted and meaningless talks." This position was reportedly conveyed to the United States through the mediator country, Pakistan.
