238th Extraordinary Session Concludes
Ordinances and Supplementary Budget Bills Approved
The Sangju City Council in North Gyeongsang Province concluded its five-day session on April 17, having addressed all agenda items at the 2nd plenary session of the 238th Sangju City Council Extraordinary Meeting.
During this extraordinary session, the council approved the first supplementary budget bill for 2026 and the first revised fund management plan. It also processed eight ordinance and general agenda items submitted by Sangju City (with two amended and six approved as originally proposed), and adopted one council member-sponsored ordinance bill, thereby strengthening the council's operations and providing rational alternatives for municipal governance.

View original imageMeanwhile, the scale of the first supplementary budget bill submitted by Sangju City amounted to 1.3576 trillion won, marking an increase of 55.6 billion won (4.27%) compared to the original budget of 1.302 trillion won. The bill was approved as originally proposed.

As the 9th council term came to a close, Speaker An Kyungsook expressed, "I hope that the passion and achievements dedicated to promoting citizens' welfare and regional development over the past four years will serve as a foundation for Sangju's growth." She also urged, "Through the execution of the supplementary budget, please focus on improving residential conditions and stabilizing livelihoods."
