The "Butterfly Fantasia Parade" has become an iconic part of the Butterfly Festival, earning enthusiastic acclaim from visitors each year with its dazzling production and unique concept.
This year, Professor Moon Bokjoo of Songwon University is serving as the executive director, promising an even more upgraded presentation. The parade cars have been completely remodeled, the number of performers has been increased, and a new theme song has been specially composed for the parade, ensuring a high-quality performance that appeals to both sight and sound.
In particular, this year's parade centers on the theme "The Shining Adventure of the Butterfly and Hwangbaki." Kicking off with a themed performance at the opening ceremony on April 24, the parade will be held daily throughout the festival until May 5. The fantastical performances inspired by butterflies are expected to provide visitors with an immersive and enjoyable experience. Detailed schedules, including performance times, can be found on the Hampyeong Festival Tourism Foundation website.
Additionally, the festival's central plaza will feature a butterfly release performance and photo sessions for children, while a premium street performance combining the festival's symbols—the butterfly and the golden bat—will offer a unique and delightful experience for attendees.
A variety of other performances will also take place during the festival. Singer Kim Yongbin will perform at the opening ceremony on April 24. On April 25, 26, and May 1, the "Butterfly Concert In Day" will feature artists such as Kim Suchan and the band BooHwal. On May 2, a nationwide butterfly dance competition and a performance by singer B.O. are scheduled. The closing event on Children's Day, May 5, will feature singer An Sunghoon, bringing the festival to a grand finale.
