"Unisem Expected to See Concentrated Orders for DRAM, NAND, and Foundry in the Second Half"
On April 14, SK Securities forecasted that starting from the second half of the year, Unisem will see a concentration of orders across the DRAM, NAND, and foundry front-end sectors.
Dongjoo Lee, a researcher at SK Securities, stated in a report released on this day, "Unisem's equipment coverage spans not only DRAM but also NAND and foundry, securing both domestic and overseas clients. As a result, the company is expected to benefit from investment momentum both in Korea and abroad."
The DRAM expansion schedule is being accelerated. The equipment setup for Phase 4 of Samsung Electronics' Pyeongtaek Campus 4 (P4) was initially expected in the second half of 2026 or the first half of 2027, but it is now anticipated to be completed within the second half of 2026.
Equipment installation for Phase 2 is also expected to begin by the end of the year, and the cleanroom opening for Phase 5 is scheduled for May to June next year, with new fab equipment orders set to begin from the second quarter. The SK Hynix Cheongju M15X plant is also expected to accelerate equipment installation within the year, driven by the early completion of the Yongin semiconductor cluster.
