Korea Federation of Middle Market Enterprises Begins Accepting Applications for '12th Middle Market Entrepreneurs Day' Commendations
The Largest Annual Government Awards for Middle Market Enterprises
Application Deadline: June 5
The Korea Federation of Middle Market Enterprises announced on April 13 that it has begun accepting applications for commendations for the '12th Middle Market Entrepreneurs Day.' The application deadline is June 5.
This year, the focus will be on identifying middle market entrepreneurs who have contributed to expanding exports, leading the global market, securing national advanced industry superiority, diversifying supply chains, promoting fair trade and a culture of mutual growth, and creating safer industrial sites.
Hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the Korea Federation of Middle Market Enterprises, the 'Middle Market Entrepreneurs Day' commendations are the largest government awards in the sector, based on the Middle Market Enterprises Act. Launched in 2015 to enhance the pride of middle market entrepreneurs who have contributed to Korea's economic and industrial development, the awards also aim to spread entrepreneurial spirit and innovation achievements by setting role models for growth. Through a systematic verification process—document screening, on-site evaluations, and a public merit committee—the final awardees are selected in November and honored at the annual 'Middle Market Entrepreneurs Day' ceremony held in the third week of November.
Eligible candidates are middle market entrepreneurs who have made significant contributions in their respective fields for at least 15 years for the Order of Industrial Service Merit, 10 years for the Industrial Medal, 5 years for the Presidential or Prime Minister's Commendation, and 3 years for the Ministerial or Director's Commendation. To date, a total of 367 individuals have received awards, and at last year's ceremony, Lee Donghyun, Chairman of Osang Healthcare, was honored with the Gold Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit.
