The Korea Golf Course Management Association announced on March 24 that it has published the "2025 Course Management White Paper."
The association stated, "In order to present scientific golf course management standards amid rapidly changing climate conditions, we have compiled practical, field-oriented materials into the white paper." It added, "Last year, researchers from the Korea Turfgrass Research Institute visited golf courses nationwide, conducted on-site analyses, and proposed course management methods and strategies tailored to Korea's climate."

In particular, last year, unprecedented climate change caused significant damage to cool-season turfgrass species such as Kentucky bluegrass, and some regions, including Jeju, faced major operational difficulties, with some courses even replacing fairway grass with warm-season species.
The white paper consists of six main chapters. It provides a detailed analysis of the 2025 climate conditions and the current state of course management, and thoroughly examines the changes in turfgrass species composition and future management strategies for domestic golf courses. Furthermore, the report goes beyond simple records by presenting preventive, proactive management strategies that reflect regional climate characteristics and the differences in management conditions. This is intended to help individual golf courses make informed decisions. Experts in turfgrass diseases, weeds, pests, soil, and fertilizers participated in the preparation of this white paper.
