SK Telecom to Put Korea's Flagship AI to the Test at MWC...Joins Global AI Red Team Challenge
Participating with in-house developed A.X K1
Evaluation panel to verify the model in a red-team format
SK Telecom announced on the 25th that it will participate in the Global AI Red Team Challenge, held during Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026, the world's largest mobile trade show, to verify the safety and reliability of its in-house developed artificial intelligence (AI) model A.X K1.
The Global AI Red Team Challenge will be conducted by having a panel of about 100 evaluators identify potential misuse risks, such as discriminatory responses or information breaches, in large language models (LLMs) developed by domestic and international companies.

Because external experts directly examine the safety of responses generated by AI models in the Global AI Red Team Challenge, only companies with a high level of technical sophistication and reliability participate. The verification results produced by the evaluators will be converted into scores by a judging panel, and the number of participating companies, final scores, and rankings will not be disclosed to the public.
SK Telecom will participate in this challenge with its in-house developed LLM, A.X K1. A.X K1 is a model independently developed across the entire process from model design to training, and it recently passed the first stage of evaluation for proprietary AI foundation models.
The A.X model series, including A.X K1, is being further advanced based on the data and operational know-how SK Telecom has accumulated across its telecommunications and platform businesses. It is currently being provided to customers through AI services such as A.Dot, and its scope of application is also expanding to work within the SK Group.
By participating in this event, SK Telecom plans to verify the performance and safety of A.X K1 on the global stage and to reflect the results in further advancing its AI services, thereby enhancing the completeness of its AI models.
