"Bringing Scattered Departments Together"... Gwangju Buk-gu Holds Ceremony for New Annex Move-In
30 Billion Won Invested in 8-Story Building
Efficiency in Placement of 17 Departments Rises Sharply
Gwangju Buk-gu has completed moving into its new government office building (new annex), which was constructed to expand insufficient office space and improve administrative efficiency.
According to Gwangju Buk-gu on February 9, the district will hold a ceremony to commemorate the completion of the move into the new annex at 11:00 a.m. on February 10 on the first floor of the new building of the Buk-gu Office.
About 100 people, including Gwangju Buk-gu Mayor Moon In, district council members, heads of local civic groups, and residents, are expected to attend the event and celebrate the beginning of the new office era with commemorative photos, a tape-cutting ceremony, and a tour of the facilities.
The new annex of the Buk-gu Office was completed last month with a total project cost of 30 billion won. It has a total floor area of 7,179 square meters and consists of one basement level and eight above-ground floors. The project was promoted to resolve work inefficiencies and the complicated office layout that had arisen because departments were scattered across the main building and several annexes.
Buk-gu began relocating in stages on January 24 and completed the move-in of 17 departments from 5 bureaus by February 9.
Through the construction of the new annex and the reorganization of departments, the number of main-office departments, which had been dispersed across seven locations, has been reduced to three, and work concentration is expected to improve significantly.
In addition, a connecting bridge has been installed between the main building and the new annex to improve convenience in moving between the two buildings. This is expected to simplify movement routes within the office complex and enhance residents' access to administrative services.
