Man in His 70s Dies After Self-Immolation at Busan Station Square
A man in his 70s set himself on fire and died at Busan Station Square, prompting a police investigation.
According to the Busan Dongbu Police Station on November 3, 2025, at around 2:25 p.m., a man in his 70s poured a flammable substance on himself and set himself on fire at Busan Station Square in Dong-gu, Busan. An employee at Busan Station attempted to extinguish the flames, but the man suffered burns and died.
Mr. A, who resides in Jeju Island, reportedly told his family he was going on a trip before traveling alone to Busan. The police are analyzing closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage and questioning witnesses to determine the circumstances under which Mr. A set himself on fire.
