Full-scale Launch of Industry-Academia Cooperation to Drive Regional Innovation
The RISE Project Group of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies announced on June 20 that it held the "Gyeonggi-do Regional Innovation-centered University Support System (RISE) Project Group Launch Ceremony" at Myungsudang Hall in Baeknyeon Hall on the Global Campus.

View original imageMore than 50 people attended the launch ceremony, including President Park Jungwoon, industry representatives, officials from consortium partner organizations, university faculty and staff, and students.
The Hankuk University of Foreign Studies RISE Project Group will focus on three specialized areas: semiconductor materials, parts, and equipment; health and welfare; and smart manufacturing. Its core initiatives include nurturing global regional innovation talent, establishing industry-academia cooperation models, contributing to the local community, and developing a system for the university's sustainable growth.
Through this project, the group plans to actively operate a university-industry-government alliance and contribute to the creation of a sustainable innovation ecosystem through education, research, and industry-academia cooperation activities linked to the local community.

In his congratulatory remarks, President Park stated, "I hope the Gyeonggi-do RISE Project will serve as a catalyst for realizing communal values, where the region, universities, industry, and citizens come together to shape the future." He added, "I also hope that even after the project concludes in 2030, it will continue to be established as a sustainable regional ecosystem and develop into a long-term regional innovation platform."
