Renault Group sells 2.26 million units worldwide... Sales increase in Korea and Europe
Over 22,000 Grand Koleos Sold in Just Four Months After Launch
The Renault Group sold 2,264,815 vehicles worldwide last year, an increase of 1.3% compared to the previous year. Sales showed strong performance in markets including Korea and Europe.
According to Renault Korea on the 23rd, the Renault Group recorded 1,599,051 new car sales in Europe, an increase of 3.5% compared to the previous year. The group’s brand Dacia’s compact SUV 'Sandero' sold 143,596 units in the first half alone, ranking first in the entire European passenger car new car market and leading European sales along with the compact hatchback Clio.
Outside Europe, new cars introduced through the global strategy 'International Game Plan' showed remarkable performance. This strategy aims to create synergy between Europe and non-European regions by launching a total of eight new models by 2027, based on five global hubs including Korea and Brazil.
Renault Korea launched the new car 'Grand Koleos' in April last year after introducing the Renault brand, selling more than 22,000 units within four months, resulting in an over 80% increase in sales compared to the previous year.
In Brazil, the compact SUV Kadiyan was launched, recording a growth rate of 10.3% compared to the previous year. Kadiyan is very popular in four regions including Latin America, Turkey, Morocco, and India, playing a key role in Renault’s global strategy.
A Renault Korea official said, "We plan to continue the growth momentum of the Grand Koleos this year," adding, "We also plan to further strengthen our brand image as a leader in eco-friendly mobility by introducing the Scenic E-Tech Electric, which won the European Car of the Year last year, to the domestic market."
