Korea and Spain have held the Construction Cooperation Forum six times since 2014, achieving joint orders for major projects in 30 countries across Europe and Latin America. This event is being resumed after three years at Spain's request to restore the momentum of construction cooperation between the two countries, which had been subdued due to COVID-19.
Vice Minister Jin will also meet with Jos? Antonio Santano Clavero, Deputy Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility of Spain, to discuss ways to expand infrastructure cooperation in Europe, North America, and Latin America.
Afterwards, he will attend the "Korea-Poland Infrastructure and Ukraine Reconstruction Cooperation Forum" in Warsaw, Poland. This forum was arranged as a follow-up to President Yoon Suk-yeol’s state visit to Poland in July, to discuss a triangular cooperation plan among Korea, Ukraine, and Poland for Ukraine’s reconstruction.
The forum will be attended by the Polish Ministry of Infrastructure, Paweł Kowal, Chairman of the Polish Foreign Affairs Committee and Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Office Ukraine Cooperation Committee, and Ruslan Kravchenko, Governor of Kyiv Oblast, Ukraine.
Vice Minister Jin plans to support detailed business consultations between companies through bilateral meetings with key figures from Poland and Ukraine, as well as clients. Additionally, he will hold a business meeting to listen to difficulties and suggestions regarding overseas projects from Korean companies operating in Poland and to encourage their efforts.
Vice Minister Jin said, "Poland, as the closest country to Ukraine, has rich local experience and, based on a long-standing cooperative relationship, will play a pivotal role in leading post-war Ukraine reconstruction. I intend to use this visit to Poland as a strategic opportunity to discover concrete Ukraine reconstruction projects."
