Canadian Navy Chief Visits Hanwha Ocean Geoje Plant... Discusses Submarine Project
"Emphasizing the Competitiveness of Jangbogo-III Batch-II Submarines"
Hanwha Ocean announced on the 10th that Angus Topshee, Chief of the Canadian Navy, visited the Geoje facility to discuss the Canadian Submarine Procurement Project.
Chief Topshee personally toured the actual construction site of the Jangbogo-III Batch-II submarine proposed by Hanwha Ocean for the Canadian Submarine Project (CPSP). He also received detailed explanations from Hanwha Ocean's management about the design and production process of the Jangbogo-III Batch-II submarine.

View original imageHanwha Ocean emphasized to Chief Topshee and his delegation that the Jangbogo-III Batch-II submarine is the only model capable of meeting all the requirements of the Canadian Navy. In particular, they announced plans to support independent submarine maintenance (ISS) locally in Canada through technology transfer.
Uh Seong-cheol, President of Hanwha Ocean's Special Ship Business Division, stated, "The CPSP project will not only deliver submarines built in Korea to Canada but also mark an important milestone signaling the beginning of a long-term partnership that promotes the development of both countries' economies, industries, and maritime defense sectors."

Recently, Hanwha Ocean submitted a response to the Canadian government's Request for Information (RFI) to participate in the Canadian Submarine Project. In May, Hanwha Ocean was the only Korean company to participate in CANSEC 2024, Canada's largest defense exhibition, where it widely promoted the excellence of the Jangbogo-III Batch-II submarine.
