Kim Joo-hyung has expressed his position regarding the damage to locker room property.
On the 28th, he posted on his social media (SNS), "There have been many speculations about the incident that occurred after the Genesis Championship yesterday," and added, "There were some inaccuracies, and I want to correct them." He damaged a locker room door after finishing as runner-up to An Byeong-hoon in a playoff at the Genesis Championship (total prize money of $4 million), a co-hosted event by the DP World Tour (formerly the European Tour) and the Korea Professional Golfers' Association (KPGA) Tour, held at Jack Nicklaus Korea Golf Club in Songdo, Incheon.
Kim Joo-hyung stated, "It is true that I was frustrated after the playoff loss," but emphasized, "However, I did not intentionally damage the locker room." He continued, "Immediately afterward, I contacted the DP World Tour and KPGA to inform them about the damage to the locker room door," and "I also expressed my willingness to cover the related costs."
Kim added, "While communicating with tour officials, I apologized and offered compensation, and I believe the matter was resolved with that," concluding his post with, "I thank those who sent me messages of support. I sincerely apologize to those whom I disappointed."

Meanwhile, the KPGA Tour stated officially, "The golf course also conveyed that the damage was minor and they will not be charging any separate costs. There are no plans to hold a disciplinary committee regarding the incident involving player Kim Joo-hyung."
