Commemoration Ceremony Held Near Onsan Smelter in Ulsan on the 31st
Choi Yoon-beom, Chairman of Korea Zinc, announced on the 31st that he will personally present the new company vision created together with all employees on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the company's founding on the 1st of next month, stating, "It will be the driving force to leap beyond the world's No. 1 comprehensive non-ferrous metal smelting company to become a global eco-friendly energy and materials company that serves as a model for humanity."

On the same day, Chairman Choi declared a new mission at the 50th anniversary ceremony held near the Onsan Smelter in Ulsan, attended by about 150 people including employees and their families, outside directors, retired executives, and representatives of partner companies: "Let us convert various raw materials and energy sources into the forms of materials and energy that the world needs in the safest, most eco-friendly, and most efficient way." He also shared the five core values selected to achieve this mission: honesty, immersion, flexibility, communication, and teamwork.
Korea Zinc explained that from August 2020, over four years, the top management and all employees engaged in intense dialogue and discussions through the 'Big Question Project' to derive the new mission and five core values.
Chairman Choi said, "I sincerely thank all employees who passionately participated in selecting the mission and core values that will serve as a guidebook for a better future." He added, "The mission and core values we created together will be a compass that leads us to achieve our dreams without wavering, no matter what adversity we face."
Chairman Choi also said, "I believe the process of contemplating and choosing values together is much more important. Only then can our true mission and core values be something we recall every time we face difficulties or make major decisions."

Earlier, on the 29th, Korea Zinc relocated its headquarters from the Youngpoong Building in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, to the Gran Seoul Building in Jongno-gu, Seoul.

A Korea Zinc official said, "Jongno is where Korea Zinc first established its nest upon its launch in 1974," adding, "We expect it to be a place for a greater leap toward the next 50 years."
