On top of that, they sacrifice time to spend with their families, yet they are treated like criminals and harassed, which is a stark contrast."
He continued, "I feel a sense of self-disgust at how it is acceptable for such people to earn money through effort, but when doctors earn (much less) money through their efforts, there is an allergic reaction that absolutely cannot be tolerated."
He also said, "This is not an argument that doctors should make money," explaining, "It means that when someone puts in more effort than others, there should be so-called 'good jobs' where people receive respect or esteem and are also treated well economically, so that people continue to strive to become professionals in those fields."
Furthermore, he stated, "Doctors should remain one of those professionals," adding, "This is not just for the sake of doctors, but for the entire society."
Finally, Noh concluded by saying, "In the United States, respect and high economic rewards are given to thoracic surgeons, a field others avoid, preventing a shortage of thoracic surgeons. Only excellent doctors who survive competition can perform heart and lung surgeries. The Korean government plans to fill that position with 'leakage doctors'."
