Korea GM's Global Sales Reach 468,000 Units Last Year... Highest Since 2017
On the 3rd, Korea GM announced that it sold 468,059 units in the global market throughout 2023. This figure represents a 76% increase compared to the same period last year and is the highest performance since 2017.
The significant expansion of North American exports of major sport utility vehicles (SUVs) such as the Chevrolet Trailblazer and Trax crossover had a major impact. Korea GM's annual overseas sales last year reached 429,304 units, an increase of 88.5%. This expansion in overseas sales is the highest since 2015.
In the domestic market last year, sales increased by 4.1% to 38,755 units. The Chevrolet Trax crossover and Trailblazer also led performance in the domestic market.
Looking at the performance for December last year, Korea GM sold 51,415 units in the global market, a 116% increase compared to the previous year. This is the highest monthly performance based on last year.
Overseas sales in December recorded 49,201 units, a 124% increase compared to the previous year. This marks 21 consecutive months of year-on-year growth. At the same time, it set the record for the highest monthly sales last year.
The Chevrolet Trailblazer (including derivative models) sold 18,953 units in overseas markets during December alone. The Trailblazer ranked first in cumulative export sales from January to November last year in the domestic automobile market. Based on its sophisticated design and excellent product quality, 194,838 units were sold overseas from January to November last year.
Domestic sales in December recorded 2,214 units, a 20.3% increase compared to the previous year. The Chevrolet Trax crossover led performance in the domestic market.
