Home&Shopping Saves 9,900 Hours Annually Through Business Automation
Introduction of Robotic Process Automation (RPA)
Home&Shopping announced on the 19th that it has introduced a Robotic Process Automation (RPA) system to enhance work productivity as part of its digital transformation strategy.
RPA is a system that automates simple, repetitive, and structured tasks performed by humans through computers by utilizing software robots. Home&Shopping established the foundation for a digital work environment by using the RPA solution from Eden TNS, a specialized company in intelligent work automation solutions.
To verify the effects of RPA implementation, key work areas in five departments were tested, including ▲extracting subtitle request dates in Excel ▲extracting pre-produced video review lists ▲episode settlement scripts ▲resolution processing and scripts ▲hazardous product blocking processes ▲quality indicator management ▲search registration banners ▲home popup settings ▲regular consolidated mail sending ▲and registering home shopping sanction cases. The experiment resulted in an annual reduction of approximately 9,861 hours, improving work productivity and efficiency.
For example, the hazardous product blocking process involves checking whether hazardous products are being sold on the company’s online shopping mall and blocking them. Previously, four staff members performed this task once daily, five days a week. By automating it to run three times daily, seven days a week, the operation time was reduced by 75% compared to before.
