Emphasis on Preventing Casualties During Heavy Rain and Baekjung Sari Periods
Jang Dae-woon, Chief of the Changwon Maritime Police Station in Gyeongnam, conducted an accident prevention inspection on September 1 at local beaches and coastal waters following the closure of beaches in the jurisdiction.
According to Changwon Maritime Police, Chief Jang visited Gwangam Beach in Masanhappo-gu, which ended its summer season operations, to check for visitors and inspect safety facilities.

He stated, "Safety management personnel who acted as safety guards at the beach throughout the summer have withdrawn following the beach closure," adding, "Therefore, thorough patrols and safety management are necessary both on land and at sea to prevent safety accidents involving bathers and nearby tourists."
He continued, "From August 31 to September 4, there is a period of spring tide with a large tidal range, coinciding with Baekjungsari, when the sea level is at its highest," urging, "Let us strengthen patrols to prevent safety accidents such as coastal or lowland flooding, protect the lives of the people, and minimize property damage."

The Changwon Maritime Police plans to continue marine accident prevention activities, including safety inspections of 25 hazardous coastal areas within the jurisdiction, which began in early August, through the beginning of this month.
