Gyeonggi-do Invests 705 Million KRW in Technology Demonstration for Vulnerable Semiconductor Areas Including SoBuJang
Gyeonggi Province and the Next-Generation Convergence Technology Institute will provide 705 million KRW in support for vulnerable areas in the semiconductor sector.
On the 10th, Gyeonggi Province and the Convergence Technology Institute announced that they are calling for new companies to participate in the "Semiconductor Testbed Utilization Technology Demonstration Support Project."
The call for applications covers the fields of ▲ semiconductor materials, parts, and equipment ▲ system semiconductors ▲ next-generation semiconductors.
Eligibility and support details are for small and medium-sized enterprises and mid-sized companies within the province, providing assistance such as prototype performance evaluation costs and analysis fees to resolve difficulties arising during the technology demonstration stage of technology development, as well as support for technology development spaces and expert research personnel.
The support budget totals 705 million KRW from 2023 to 2025.
The two organizations have formed a consultative body with four performance testing institutions (testbeds) to carry out this project.
The operating institutions and their respective fields are ▲ Next-Generation Convergence Technology Institute (Gyeonggi Province Semiconductor Materials, Parts, and Equipment Performance Testbed) ▲ Korea Nano Technology Institute (Compound Semiconductor Fab) ▲ Korea Electronics Technology Institute (System Semiconductor Platform Research Center) ▲ Korea Ceramic Technology Institute (Ceramic Performance Testbed).
Applicants can use the services of the operating institutions and then submit the project application to the Convergence Technology Institute to receive support including 70 million KRW for prototype performance evaluation and 30 million KRW for analysis fees.
