Gyeonggi-do to Conduct Farmland Usage Survey Until November 30... Focused Crackdown on Farmland Act Violations
Gyeonggi Province will conduct a 'Farmland Usage Survey' targeting 31 cities and counties within the province from the 14th of this month until November 30th.
The Farmland Usage Survey is an investigation conducted once a year under the Farmland Act to verify facts related to farmland ownership, transactions, usage, and conversion.
The main survey targets include ▲ farmland owned by agricultural corporations, foreigners, and overseas Koreans ▲ farmland within land transaction permission zones and farmland acquired after obtaining a farmland acquisition qualification certificate within the last five years ▲ farmland acquired by non-residents ▲ farmland acquired through shared ownership, among others.
Through the survey, the actual agricultural management status of farmland owners will be confirmed, and unauthorized fallow land, illegal leasing, etc., will be detected. In the case of agricultural corporations, compliance with farmland ownership requirements (at least one-third of the executive officers must be farmers) will be checked.
Additionally, the proper operation of farmland usage facilities such as livestock barns, insect breeding houses, and mushroom cultivation houses will be verified, and investigations will be conducted to check whether rooftop solar power facilities are being installed and operated to evade farmland conversion permits.
If violations of the Farmland Act such as illegal conversion, ownership, leasing, or unauthorized fallow land are found as a result of the Farmland Usage Survey, administrative actions including imposition of farmland disposal obligations and restoration orders will be taken after hearing procedures, along with prosecution measures.
