Kim Dong-yeon, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, pledged to unwaveringly carry on the spirit of May Gwangju, calling it his eternal compass.
On the 15th, Governor Kim wrote on his social networking service (SNS), "Marking the 46th May, I bow my head deeply before the spirits of democracy," and added, "As always, I walked through Cemetery 1, Cemetery 2, and the old cemetery, paying my respects to each and every martyr from Gyeonggi Province."
