Another Incident After One Year? ... 40-Year-Old Man Given Probation for Public Indecency
A man in his 40s who was fined for committing an obscene act toward a pedestrian on the street was sentenced to probation after committing the same crime again within a year.
On the 31st, Lee Won-jae, a judge of the Criminal Division 2 at Daegu District Court, announced that he sentenced Mr. A, who was indicted for committing an obscene act (public obscenity) toward a pedestrian on the street, to four months in prison with a two-year probation.
Mr. A was brought to trial on charges of committing an obscene act for about 30 seconds toward Ms. B (a teenage female pedestrian) after overtaking her on a road in Daegu around 10 p.m. on November 6 last year.
Previously, he was fined 5 million won for the same type of offense in 2021.

Judge Lee Won-jae stated, “Considering that the defendant moved to a place where the victim could see and committed the obscene act, the nature of the crime is serious, and no agreement was reached with the victim,” and ordered 40 hours of sexual violence treatment lectures and a two-year employment restriction at institutions related to children, adolescents, and persons with disabilities.
