This year, the scope has expanded from traditional music to traditional performing arts, supporting the creative processes of young artists in various traditional art fields such as music, dance, and yeonhui (traditional Korean performance).
Eligibility is for young traditional performing artists aged 20 to 35 (individuals or teams) capable of performing within 50 minutes. First-round teams will be selected through document and video screening, and a solo performance of about 50 minutes will be supported at the National Jeongdong Theater Cecil in August.
All first-round selected teams will receive support for production direction and mentoring, as well as access to the National Jeongdong Theater’s stage technology, planning, and promotional marketing systems.
The solo performances will undergo a second-round live performance evaluation in a competition format to select two outstanding artists and one artist of the year. Eight teams in the competition category will each receive a creative support fund of 2 million KRW for work development. Each of the final outstanding artists will receive an additional 3 million KRW, and the artist of the year will receive an additional 5 million KRW in creative support funds.
