Elizabeth Sokol (USA) leads with 8-under-par 64, Saso Yuka (Japan) is 2nd with 5-under-par 67, and Nelly Korda (USA) and Ariya Jutanugarn (Thailand) are tied for 3rd.
Kim Hyo-joo recorded six birdies and two bogeys. After a bogey on the 2nd hole, she immediately recovered with a birdie on the 3rd hole (both par 4s), then added three more birdies on the 6th, 8th, and 9th holes. Although she lost a birdie on the 11th hole with a bogey on the 12th hole (both par 4s), she added a valuable birdie on the 17th hole (par 3) to continue competing at the top. She relied on her ‘precise iron shots,’ missing the fairway only twice. She is four strokes behind the leader and has a chance for her fifth career win, her first in 11 months since the Lotte Championship last April. Kim Hyo-joo previously won this tournament in 2021.
