Korea & Company, 20 Years of Sharing Practice... "Recipient of the Community Chest of Korea Award"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Korea & Company, a business holding company of Korea & Company Group, announced on the 19th that it received the ‘Happiness Award’ in the donation category at the ‘9th Love Fruit Awards’ hosted by the Community Chest of Korea.
The award ceremony held on the 16th at Korea & Company’s headquarters Technoplex in Pangyo, Gyeonggi Province was attended by Korea & Company President An Jongseon and Seoul Community Chest of Korea Secretary General Shin Hyeyoung, among others. The Love Fruit Awards recognize individuals and organizations that have contributed to the spread of a sharing culture and the development of the Community Chest of Korea. Awards are given in the categories of donation (contributions to the activation of donation culture, etc.), civic participation (contributions to Community Chest fundraising and support projects, etc.), and volunteer service (contributions as sharing volunteers), including the Contribution Award, Happiness Award, Sharing Award, and Hope Award.
Since 2003, Korea & Company has been continuously supporting coexistence with local communities in partnership with the Community Chest of Korea. As of the first half of this year, it has donated approximately 12.8 billion KRW in total. The donations have been used to support underprivileged neighbors in regions such as Seoul (Seoul Community Chest of Korea), Daejeon (Daejeon Community Chest of Korea), and Chungnam (Chungnam Community Chest of Korea).
Korea & Company Group, including Korea Tire & Technology (hereinafter Korea Tire), continues to carry out sponsorship activities in communities and other areas in need. In March, it donated 200 million KRW to support recovery and victims of wildfires in the Gangwon and Gyeongbuk regions. It has also conducted sincere sharing activities involving employees and their families in corporate social responsibility programs such as ‘Mural Painting,’ ‘Voice Donation,’ and ‘Our Forest Creation.’
Additionally, under the slogan ‘Driving Toward Happiness,’ it is conducting social contribution programs utilizing its core business characteristic of ‘mobility.’ It has carried out the ‘Children’s Traffic Safety Campaign’ in cooperation with the Community Chest of Korea and the Korea Life Safety Association, providing multifaceted support for traffic safety education and school zone environment improvements to prevent child traffic accidents.

In particular, in August of this year, it newly opened the ‘Driving School’ for underprivileged children at the Daejeon Traffic Culture Training Center in Yuseong District, Daejeon Metropolitan City. It offers various contents such as a ‘Mobility Experience Zone’ and ‘Tire Exhibition Zone’ to children in traffic blind spots, contributing to raising awareness of traffic safety.
