The solo exhibition "本質消滅時效: The Extinction Period of Essence" by sculptor Lee Jihoon, who has presented works for new experiences through changes in sensation, is being held until the 24th at Spectrum Gallery in Itaewon-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
In this exhibition, the artist presents two flat works and seven installation pieces. He introduces that he has continued to explore how human senses and perceptions adapt and accept changes in an evolving era.
Furthermore, the artist conveys through his works a re-recognition of the imperfection of senses and a warning about the new environment presented by technology.
Regarding this exhibition, the artist said, "It is a story about predictions and fears not about the anxiety of phenomena currently faced by the audience, but about issues that have not yet occurred but can be sufficiently anticipated from the current situation in the near future." He added, "It is an anxiety and concern inherent in me, based on the body, about things that have not happened."

Through a multisensory sculptural work and a tension-filled spatial arrangement, the artist fully conveys to the audience the emotional turmoil and sensory fractures of contradictory feelings such as intimidation, overwhelm, discomfort, unfamiliarity, and awe. The work, composed of a rapidly rotating fan and bright internal lighting, maximizes nerve fatigue without the audience realizing it, causing an experience of paralysis of thought.
