Norman LIV Golf CEO "Expansion to Women's Golf as Well"
[Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae] Greg Norman (Australia, photo), the head of LIV Golf, has expressed his intention to expand the LIV series to women's golf as well.
On the 20th (Korean time), in an interview with the Palm Beach Post, a regional newspaper in Florida, USA, Norman answered "100%" to the question, "Do you plan to introduce the LIV series to women's golf?" Launched last month, the LIV series is sponsored by the Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund and, leveraging enormous financial power, is causing a seismic shift in the world of men's golf, which has been divided between the existing PGA Tour and the DP World Tour (formerly the European Tour).

Norman plans to shake up the ecosystem led by the LPGA Tour by offering contracts and prize money backed by 'oil money' to female players as well. Norman said, "We have discussed it internally and believe there is sufficient potential," adding, "I actually had a conversation with a top female player in our office, and she expressed great satisfaction with our plan." Saudi Arabian energy company Aramco currently sponsors eight tournaments on the Ladies European Tour (LET).
