Fair Trade Commission to Conduct Franchise Sector Survey from 18th
Targeting 200 Franchise Headquarters and 12,000 Franchise Stores
[Asia Economy Sejong=Reporter Lee Junhyung] The Fair Trade Commission (FTC) will conduct a large-scale survey targeting over 10,000 franchise business operators.
The FTC announced on the 18th that it will conduct a franchise sector survey targeting 200 franchise headquarters across 21 industries and 12,000 franchise stores. The survey period will last until September 30.
The FTC is conducting this large-scale survey to establish a monitoring system for unfair trade practices in the franchise sector. The FTC explained that it is necessary to understand the transaction practices between franchise headquarters and franchise store operators to assess the extent of improvement in unfair trade practices following government policies. Accordingly, the FTC conducts annual surveys on transaction practices between franchise headquarters and franchise store operators to utilize the results for revising franchise business laws and planning ex officio investigations.
