According to the ESLC on the 9th, Chairman Moon recently conveyed his intention to step down from his position to internal personnel.
Chairman Moon reportedly stated, "Since the government has changed, I am willing to resign regardless of my term. If the new administration appoints a suitable person, I will step down. It is appropriate for a new chairman to come and work."
The ESLC is a presidential advisory social dialogue body in the employment and labor sector. It was launched in November 2018 by expanding and reorganizing the Tripartite Commission established during the Kim Dae-jung administration in 1998.
Chairman Moon was appointed as the chairman of the Tripartite Commission immediately after the launch of the Moon Jae-in administration, then appointed as chairman at the time of the ESLC's launch, and was reappointed when the ESLC's second term began in September 2019.
