Candidate Song criticized Oh by mentioning that the People Power Party's Yangcheon District Mayor candidate also included the Gimpo Airport relocation issue in his campaign promises.
At a press conference at the National Assembly that day, Candidate Song said, "Oh opposes my announced 'Western Great Development Project' vehemently," and added, "But just a few months ago, he said about the Gimpo Airport relocation issue, 'It is a discussion worth developing,' 'It is worth thoroughly considering,' 'A fundamental solution is needed for the damage caused by airport noise in the western area,' and 'It is a matter that needs in-depth review.'" He continued, "He declared this twice in the Seoul City Council plenary session in July and November last year," and asked, "He changed his words in less than half a year, not even a year. Was it right then and wrong now?"
Regarding Lee Ki-jae, the People Power Party's Yangcheon District Mayor candidate mentioning the Gimpo Airport relocation, he criticized, "(Oh) is a Seoul mayoral candidate who must be responsible not only for his own election but also for the district mayor, city council member, and district council member elections, so he cannot say he was unaware of the district mayor's campaign promises." He added, "If he was unaware, that would be truly incompetent, and if he knew but mocked it as a 'hastily made, sloppy campaign promise,' wouldn't that be truly irresponsible?"
