Polestar, New Car Delivered Two Months After Pre-Order
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] High-performance electric vehicle Polestar announced on the 24th that it has begun delivering the new Polestar 2 vehicles, which were recently contracted. It has been two months since the pre-order started and just over a month since the official contract reception. Experts known as Polestar Specialists provided one-on-one dedicated service and handed over the vehicles to customers in exclusive delivery spaces.
Polestar sells vehicles 100% online but has retail touchpoints in five locations nationwide: Seoul, Gyeonggi, Busan, Jeju, and Daejeon. These spaces serve not only for vehicle display but also as handover boxes where vehicles are delivered to customers. The Polestar 2 sold over 2,000 units within just two hours of pre-reservation. The company stated that while aiming for the fastest possible delivery, it plans to offer industry-leading electric vehicle services. Deliveries started the day before in four locations nationwide, and in Daejeon, deliveries will be possible from the end of this month.
Polestar Specialists guide customers through 11 steps, including order information confirmation, introduction to vehicle design and features, customized vehicle settings, app and T-map integration, and charging method explanations. Polestar customers can also have their vehicles inspected and repaired at Volvo Cars' official service centers nationwide. The warranty period for general parts is 5 years or 100,000 km, and for the high-voltage battery, 8 years or 160,000 km. For paid repairs at official centers, lifetime parts warranty service is provided.
Ham Jong-seong, CEO of Polestar Korea, said, "We will work closely with headquarters to ensure vehicles are delivered promptly and do our best to ensure customer satisfaction at every touchpoint."
