In a post on his Facebook on the same day, Rep. Choi began by saying, "Despite the pledge I wrote when leaving the Blue House, I struggled a lot with self-reproach for not being able to stop the rampage and conspiracy of political prosecutors, which led to the current outcome."
Rep. Choi served as the Secretary for Public Office Discipline under the Office of Civil Affairs at the Blue House in 2018. However, two years later, in 2020, he resigned voluntarily after being indicted on charges related to former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk's 'children's admission corruption' case.
At that time, he explained his resignation by saying, "I tried to fulfill my duties, but unexpectedly faced a 'snap indictment' situation and had to face a criminal trial," adding, "For the success of the Moon Jae-in administration and to protect the president, I should no longer be a burden." Later that year, he ran as a proportional representation candidate for the Open Democratic Party (formerly the Democratic Party of Korea) in the April 15 general election and was elected.
Regarding this, Rep. Choi wrote on the 22nd, "I thought about the time two years ago when I left the Blue House and decided to run," reflecting, "Even when confronted with a persistent conspiracy trying to turn back the wheels of history, I could not turn a blind eye from behind."
He continued, "From March 10, after the presidential election ended, I wanted to try new topics and fresh activities," but lamented, "However, the situation did not go according to my will and wishes."
He declared, "I will start again," and criticized President-elect Yoon, saying, "I cannot just stand by and watch a person who is obviously going to act with arrogance and arbitrary power as usual."
He added, "Because the harm to the country's history is too great, I believe there is a duty to somehow stop and overcome it," emphasizing, "It may be presumptuous to speak as a 'politician,' but at least it is a pledge not to remain a mere 'gangster.'"

Rep. Choi also strongly criticized President-elect Yoon by referring to him as 'Yoon Seok-yeol-ssi.' He said, "I will deeply engrave the determination that ruthless and cruel power can never be neglected or forgiven and will take even one step forward. I will make sure that Yoon Seok-yeol-ssi firmly engraves in his body and mind that the true owners of the country are clearly the people."
