View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Juhee] Won Hee-ryong, head of the Policy Headquarters of the People Power Party's election campaign, on the 28th revealed the actual documents found in the drainage outlet related to the Daejang-dong development project and pressured Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party presidential candidate, again, suspecting perjury.
On the same day, Won held a press conference at the central party office in Yeouido, Seoul, and publicly disclosed the entire documents he had additionally analyzed and obtained, beyond the three documents revealed on the 25th.
First, Won claimed that although candidate Lee had asserted in election brochures and elsewhere that 550.3 billion KRW was recovered from the Daejang-dong project, this amount was inflated compared to the actual recovered sum. He explained that the disclosed document contained content that appeared to have been discussed to match the figure of 550.3 billion KRW. In particular, although Lee’s claim of recovering 550.3 billion KRW from the Daejang-dong project during the 2018 Gyeonggi Province governor election was acquitted after being accused of false statement, the document included notes on the logic to respond to that trial, stating that "if perjury by related parties is confirmed, it will be grounds for retrial."
Won speculated that the handwritten notes in the document were likely by lawyer Jeong Min-yong, who was then the head of the Strategic Business Team at Seongnam Urban Development Corporation. He said, "The same person's handwriting was consistently found. The handwriting contained logic responding to the Lee Jae-myung trial," and regarding the reason for assuming it was Jeong’s handwriting, he added, "Given the division of duties at the time, the only person who would have written and personally annotated this was lawyer Jeong. A business card and income tax withholding receipt were also found here."

He also refuted the prosecution’s claim that these documents had already been seized during last year’s investigation. Won said, "The ruling party belittles the significance by saying there is nothing new, and the prosecution said that some of the documents were submitted to the court last year, but they probably know the existence of the rest without knowing the contents," emphasizing, "The core of this issue is who, why, and what was hidden, and who was protected by hiding the highway (documents) in the drainage outlet."
