View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Former leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, Lee Hae-chan, targeted Yoon Seok-yeol, the presidential candidate of the People Power Party, on the 22nd, belittling him by saying, "No matter how ignorant the president is, shouldn't he at least understand what the bureaucrats are saying?"
In a column posted on Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party's presidential candidate's communication platform 'Lee Jae-myung Plus' on the same day, former leader Lee said, "Watching yesterday's TV debate, my impression can be summed up in one sentence: 'A debate between three presidential candidates and one ignorant and arrogant political prosecutor.'"
He added, "Even Ahn Cheol-soo, the People’s Party candidate, who was previously criticized for poor debating skills, showed remarkable experience. However, Yoon’s TV debate performance was below standard in all three aspects: knowledge, attitude, and sincerity."
Former leader Lee criticized, "Yoon said he would transform Samsung Electronics into a data platform company. This would be a serious matter if heard by Samsung Electronics factory workers both domestically and abroad. Infrastructure development and hardware-related matters are not part of the data and platform economy concepts of the Fourth Industrial Revolution," adding, "The idea that he can be ignorant but just leave it to the bureaucrats is, frankly speaking, a story from the 'Jeon Du-hwan era.'"
He continued, "This kind of thinking doesn’t work in the current era and shouldn’t be accepted. In fact, even during the Joseon Dynasty, kings had to be knowledgeable, so this kind of thinking only applied during the Jeon Du-hwan era."
He also criticized Yoon’s attitude, saying, "The worse thing is his attitude." Former leader Lee pointed out, "He said to a question from an opposing candidate, 'I don’t want to waste time answering that,' and even sneered, 'Haven’t things always been changed well?' How arrogant and rude is that behavior? It reminds me of someone putting their shoe on a train seat."

Furthermore, he claimed, "I see Yoon Seok-yeol’s country in the TV debate. The president will be ignorant and reckless, while the entrenched powers like the prosecution, media, People Power Party, and corrupt high-ranking officials will only look out for their own interests behind the scenes. It will be a country of arrogance and rudeness, where the weak are mocked and despised simply for being weak. The president’s family and those close to power will be able to commit fraud and manipulate stock prices freely without even being investigated or prosecuted, resulting in an omnipotent country of corruption and judicial unfairness."
