He also pointed out that "Yoon Seok-yeol, the presidential candidate of the People Power Party, should accept the four-party TV debate."
At a briefing held at the Democratic Party headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, Woo said, "From now on, I will focus on revealing the true nature and future vision of candidate Lee Jae-myung."
He said, "Various opinion polls have been released, but they show a neck-and-neck race within the margin of error. I believe this trend is likely to change depending on which way public sentiment leans during the Lunar New Year holiday," emphasizing, "We will do our best to capture public sentiment during this Lunar New Year holiday."
He continued, "The question of 'who is the candidate that will work better' will be of interest during this Lunar New Year holiday," adding, "We will operate the campaign by keeping the election committee on emergency standby through daily meetings."
Regarding Yoon's repeated demands for a one-on-one debate today, Woo criticized, "I consider it a de facto refusal of the TV debate. It is an extremely arrogant attitude," adding, "He said he would broadcast on the date he wants, but backing out is inappropriate. He should accept the TV debate to show his policies and vision."
On the issue of Song Young-gil's decision not to run in the next general election and the '86 generation retirement theory,' Woo evaluated, "Song's declaration of not running is a representative political figure's self-determination and dedication," adding, "It is not intended to coerce or spread to other colleagues but is a symbolic decision to show the public how desperate and earnest the Democratic Party is."
He added, "It is not desirable for this issue to drag on longer without verification of its exact effect on the presidential election," and drew a line by saying, "I believe our will has been sufficiently conveyed through the declarations of Song Young-gil and Woo Sang-ho not to run, and this issue will no longer be discussed or spread."
Regarding his own potential candidacy for Seoul mayor, he emphasized, "This is a critical situation of winning or losing the presidential election, so no member of the Democratic Party should be concerned with personal positions or ambitions instead of the presidential election," adding, "In this desperate and earnest situation, it is right to focus all attention solely on winning the presidential election."

Earlier, the election committee appointed Representative Woo, a four-term veteran lawmaker, as the General Headquarters Chief as part of measures to fully mobilize party capabilities for victory in the presidential election. Park Kwang-on, the head of the election committee's public relations team, evaluated Woo as "the right person who can lead political change and innovation at the forefront with candidate Lee Jae-myung, including his declaration last year not to run in the general election, and someone who will greatly contribute to election victory."
